Michael van Gerwen lost out to Brendan Dolan in a last leg decider who went on to be defeated by Gerwyn Price in the latter stages of the Hungarian Darts Trophy.
This continues a barren run for the Dutchman who has yet to win a title during 2021 and that run may continue until at least the World Cup of Darts being his next chance to win one.
He showed his dismay at his defeat to 'The History Maker' on Twitter following the conclusion of the match.
"Angry and disappointed with myself. From 5-3 up I should not be letting my opponent back in. Credit to Brendan Dolan for taking his chances and good luck on the next round," he said.
