The first Quarter-Final is set at the Czech Darts Open with Michael van Gerwen set to face a familiar rival in Rob Cross on Sunday evening in Prague.
Van Gerwen after being whitewashed by Rock two weeks ago has had his number since then meeting him twice and beating him twice, albeit today was less comfortable for 'The Green Machine' who had to find an incredible leg when he needed it most.
As ever he did, Van Gerwen was sent to a decider and pinned an 11-darter to move through 6-5. Albeit, this was after Van Gerwen could've won it more comfortably going 4-2 up on 'Rocky' but a 158 checkout fired the latter into gear who sent it all the way.
While Rock's dream is over, so is the thought of a Czech winner with 'Evil Charlie' Karel Sedlacek sent packing in the opener as he was seen off by Rob Cross.
It was a 96.5 average and a high checkout of 145 for Cross as he moved through at the expense of the home favourite. But can 'Voltage' also dump out the likely favourite for the title in MVG or will the latter improve his superb head to head record.
