Home hero,
Michael van Gerwen has returned back to winning ways in the Netherlands after losing in the opener at the Premier League Darts in Rotterdam reaching the Last 16 of the
Dutch Darts Championship in Rotterdam.
Van Gerwen punished a nightmare doubling display from Gabriel Clemens who hit only 18% and it was a 6-2 win for 'The Green Machine' who shared a heartwarming moment on stage with daughter Zoe afterwards.
He reeled off four straight legs to seal victory from 2-2 with a 97 average and in comparison, he hit 66.7% on the doubles.
While
Peter Wright is also through after punishing a crash landing from 'The Polish Eagle' Krzysztof Ratajski in a 6-5 win.
It was a capitulation from the Pole and Wright came from 4-0 and 5-1 down as well as surviving missed match darts in two legs to edge through albeit using the darts that have given him success as of late.
The final match dart came in the decider for Ratajski with Wright pouncing from there with a 65 checkout to move through to the final day as Ratajski will think of what could've been at 5-1 up.
