Michael van Gerwen took home the title at the
Queensland Darts Masters on Saturday. For the Dutchman it was already his third TV title of the season, after previous victories in the Premier League Darts and at the World Matchplay.
The three-time world champion had started the final day of the Queensland Darts Masters with a 6-1 win over Haupai Puha. This was followed by victories over world champions Joe Cullen (7-5) and Gerwyn Price (8-5).
Asked if this meant he was on the way back to his previous form, van Gerwen said: “You said that wrong, I am not on the way back, I am back and they know I am the boss.
“I am a winner, not a loser. Of course, when I lose I am sick, but I am a winner and I love to win trophies.
“I am glad I am back to winning ways.”
