Van Gerwen looking forward to Madison Square Garden debut: “The greatest athletes in the world have played here”

The US Darts Masters will take place this weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York. Michael van Gerwen is already keen on a good performance.

"I've been to the United States before," Van Gerwen told DartsNews.com . "But that we can now play in such an iconic venue as Madison Square Garden is really great. I'm really looking forward to it. The greatest athletes in the world have played here, so I'm going to do my very best to perform well here ."

"That's also the nice thing about the World Series that you end up in these kinds of places," continues Mighty Mike . "After all, always playing tournaments in the same places can get boring."

Which countries would Van Gerwen like to see added to the World Series? "Darts is also popular in Switzerland and Poland, so that is certainly a possibility. I would also like to play in Italy, but is that realistic?"
