Michael van Gerwen heads into the New South Wales Darts Masters having sealed the Queensland Darts Masters as well as Premier League and World Matchplay in the past few months and confidence is high for the Green Machine.
"It's been a good few months lately and I hope I can keep the form going especially here in the World Series. I started off quite well but I think darts is going better for me in general especially after Coronavirus.
This stunningly after having surgery on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and he admits he isn't back to his best in an ominous sign for the rest of the field.
"It's not 100% yet and everyone knows that but you have to deal with the situation. The motivation is higher so you feel it less. It takes a few weeks or months to be 100%, you never know but I feel comfortable and feel well. My mental state is good and I'm back to winning ways and that's all that matters to me."
This confounded by an injury on holiday but after winning in Townsville, more wins are on his mind.
"I went on holiday to Majorca and the first day I slipped on the pool. Things like that happen, you always have to be careful."
"Before the trip I said I have to win minimum one of the three events otherwise it would be a complete disaster but now I want to win more and that's what I'm aiming for. You have to be realistic, I've come back from a rough period. Coronavirus, injury, operation so you need to be fair to yourself."

This while being pragmatic about returning to the top of the sport. "Still the World Championship is a big one towards the Order of Merit, if you're going to look towards Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright, half of it is the World Championship. I didn't win any World Championships and I'm not far off. I just need to make sure I'm doing well at the end of the year and I'm sure I can be back top and if not the year after."
