Van Gerwen previews match between Wright and Sherrock: 'If Wright plays like he did, he's going to get smashed'

Michael van Gerwen will face off against Michael Smith in his bumper Quarter-Final tie on Saturday evening but all eyes will on Fallon Sherrock once more at the Grand Slam of Darts.

Van Gerwen gave his take on Sherrock after his 10-8 win over Gary Anderson and what she is achieving this week.

''Fallon is a credit for women's darts and towards herself of course. She has to keep it going of course. It's not 102 or 103 average, but she did the right things at the right moments. You could see Mensur (Suljovic) was under pressure and he didn't really like it but that's part of the game.''

Whether Sherrock has a chance against Wright?

But can Sherrock defeated Wright? Van Gerwen thinks there is a chance but that he's going to play better than against Jose de Sousa.

''If Peter plays like he did (against José de Sousa) he's going to get smashed I think. But I don't think so, I think he's going to play better, but it would be nice if it's going to be a close game.''
