Van Gerwen produces fourth highest losing average in PDC history

Michael van Gerwen lost out to Daryl Gurney in a 6-5 defeat on Day One of PDC Super Series 6 in the Last 32 as his barren spell continued but it also continued his bad luck.

Van Gerwen's average of 112.58 was the fourth highest losing average in the history of the PDC.

This was only behind two further marks on last year's Players Championship with Peter Wright and Devon Petersen hitting 113.69 and 113.47 in losing efforts.

With Phil Taylor's 115.80 topping the standings and it is the only average that is not in a ProTour event. Can Van Gerwen win his first title of the season today?
