Michael van Gerwen was seemingly down and out against James Wade once again but with his back against the wall, 'The Green Machine' delivered a superb comeback win at the
Austrian Darts Open.
This off the back of his defeat to Wade only a few days ago at the Premier League Darts in Dublin which like this tie went all the way to a decider.
But only after going 4-2 down to Wade in the process, he roared back with a 170 checkout before sealing the tie on his own throw in the decider with a 100.5 average. Is MVG once again the man to beat in Graz?
One player who could have a say in that is his next opponent,
Dirk van Duijvenbode with a double Dutch duel set for the Quarter-Finals.
But after he defeated Rowby-John Rodriguez in the second round, he ended another Austrian home hope in the Last 16.
In the form of Zoran Lerchbacher who has been one of the stories of the weekend but fell to a superb display from the Titan who seems to be a man on a mission this weekend winning 6-1 with three 180's and a 100.7 average en route.
