Van Gerwen returns to World Number Three after one week in latest Order of Merit after German Darts Championship

Michael van Gerwen has regained third place on the PDC Order of Merit after claiming his first European Tour title since May 2019 at the German Darts Championship.
This after only a week after he dropped to World Number Five initially but his European Tour title allowed Mighty Mike to add another £25,000, passing Michael Smith and James Wade.
Van Gerwen is still well behind Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price, who have more than twice as much prize money as the Dutchman on the PDC Order of Merit. The difference between Wright and Price is £23,250, in favor of the Scot.
At the top of the rankings, there was one other change. Dimitri van den Bergh took over eighth place from Jonny Clayton. Karel Sedlacek also managed to dive into the top 100 in one go without ranking. The Czech darts player surprisingly reached the quarterfinals in Hildesheim, which means that he is now 97th.
