Seeds have began to tumble early at Players Championship 8 with two of the biggest names in the field out in Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall.

Van Gerwen averaged 94 but was edged out by his compatriot Maik Kuivenhoven - who despite having good form on the Players Championship series this year in reaching multiple Quarter-Finals wouldn't have been expected to trouble the World Number One.
This means thought that despite his brilliance last weekend at the UK Open; his wait for a Players Championship title goes on.
Aspinall won one only yesterday but is heading home early today; with Madars Razma accounting for him early doors in a 6-3 defeat.
Also out include the likes of Steve Beaton who lost to Derk Telnekes who reached the Quarter-Finals yesterday; Joe Cullen who once again bows out early this time at the hands of Jamie Lewis; as well as Jermaine Wattimena who lost to Dom Taylor who is in making up the numbers but is highly touted.
There were victories though for the likes of Peter Wright who saw off the returning Colin Osborne 6-1; who despite having only £50 to his name on the Challenge Tour was asked to make up the numbers.
Michael Smith, Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney are also among the early winners not suffering early shocks in Barnsley.
