Van Gerwen survives scare against Hamilton, set to face Wade in Quarter-Finals after brilliant Aspinall win

The afternoon session has began at the International Darts Open and we have our first Quarter-Final with Michael van Gerwen set to face James Wade on Sunday evening as they reignite their rivalry.

Van Gerwen once again survived a scare, this time against Andy Hamilton who missed a match dart in the decider and Mighty Mike fell over the line with an average of 88.2 and 27% on the doubles. He will know that he will have to play better against Wade who saw off Nathan Aspinall.

While for Wade, he hit a 170 checkout en route to a 6-2 win over an out of sorts Nathan Aspinall averaging 97 en route as he looks ahead to a tie with the World Number One.
