Van Gerwen versus Searle set for Players Championship 3 Final

The final is confirmed at Players Championship 3 and it will see Michael van Gerwen take on Ryan Searle in Wigan.

It is a first ranking final of the season for Van Gerwen after he eased past Peter Wright. He lost the first two legs but from there, he won seven out of the remaining eight remaining legs to move into the final with an average of 101.3.

Wright didn't play poorly, he just had no answer in spells to Van Gerwen and a few off legs on his throw dispelled his chances of defeating his rival and so since the World Championship final, MVG has won their two requisite meetings.

It will not be a double dutch affair though, as Ryan Searle will be the player meeting him in today's final. 'Heavy Metal' averaged exactly the same as he took care of Jeffrey de Zwaan in a 7-5 win which will only be the second final of his PDC career.
