Phil Foden is a very familiar face in modern English football, but the Manchester City forward recently showed he has another string to his bow. The 25-year-old even left
Luke Littler momentarily speechless with his effort.
“The Nuke” gave the England squad a darts clinic ahead of the
Premier League Darts night in Berlin, with the players currently assembled for the international break. Foden has a long football career ahead of him, but if he ever hangs up his boots, he could seriously consider a switch to darts.
The former wonderkid stunned both Luke Littler and the rest of the squad by firing in a 180. “Is this on camera?” he reacted, enthusiastic and surprised after hitting the maximum. Foden did not win the tournament, however, with that honor going to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Littler impressed by level of top stars
Littler was quite impressed with the level of a few players, including Foden. “There’s a fair bit of potential in Aaron Ramsdale and Phil Foden. James Trafford can do it a little as well. The others? Not really! I wished the boys good luck for this summer. Let’s hope we can bring the world title home,” he told ESPN.
The darts session also proved a useful workout for Littler himself. On Thursday evening in Berlin, he clinched Night 8 of the Premier League Darts. It marked his third nightly win, moving him to the top of the table ahead of Jonny Clayton.
