The final session of the
International Darts Open on Sunday saw an imperious
Gerwyn Price at somewhere near his very best, averaging over 105 in victories over
Dirk van Duijvenbode and
Michael van Gerwen.
Michael van Gerwen opened the session by whitewashing an out-of-sorts Peter Wright. Then Martin Schindler delighted the home crowd by seeing off Jonny Clayton 6-3.
Dirk van Duijvenbode had too much for Damon Heta, winning 6-4 before the final quarter-final saw Gerwyn Price bring an end to Rob Cross's tournament thanks to a 6-4 victory.
After van Gerwen had ended the home favourite Schindler's hopes of success, Price blitzed van Duijvenbode in the second semi-final, averaging over 106 in a 7-2 thrashing. The Iceman kept up this impressive standard for the final, making it look easy as he picked up his fourth International Darts Open title.
