Peter Wright has shown at the
World Series tournaments 'Down Under' that his form is slowly starting to return. Almost, 'Snakebite' managed to underline that return to form with a nine-darter at the
New Zealand Darts Masters.
The Scot faced
Gerwyn Price in the quarterfinals of the World Series tournament in Hamilton on Saturday. With the score at 2-1 in Wright's favour, the two-time world champion started the fourth leg with two 180s. Wright then hit the treble 20 and treble 19, allowing him to aim for a nine darter. However, the double 12 was missed, preventing the New Zealand crowd from seeing a perfect leg.
Thus, Wright remains stuck on three nine-darters. In 2015 and 2017, "Snakebite" threw a leg in nine darts at a Players Championship tournament. In 2020, Wright produced a TV nine at the Premier League Darts.
