Simon Whitlock is now off the PDC Tour but he can still produce the magic that saw him have the longevity he did as was shown at an exhibition on Saturday night in Middlesbrough.
The event ran by
MODUS and MDA saw Whitlock face off against local talent Jack Howarth sealing a 3-0 win but it was the nine-dart finish that sent the crowd into hyseria.
Whitlock must've took tips from Gerwyn Price who himself hit one during the Premier League in Manchester this past week. Other ties saw Raymond van Barneveld run out a 4-1 winner over Karl Coleman.
Adrian Lewis who has endured recent exhibition success couldn't continue his comeback with a win as he lost narrowly to Lewis Whitehead. Stephen Bunting saw off Daniel Stephenson 3-1 before Whitlock and Lewis returned to the oche for a battle of yesteryear.
This in itself was won by Lewis 4-3 before one final battle between Stephen Bunting who won 5-1 against Raymond van Barneveld. Some night for the fans in attendance.
