''Only Belgian who has no quarrel with the other Belgians'' - Vincent van der Voort delightfully sums up Mario Vandenbogaerde

Mario Vandenbogaerde made his debut at the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace on Monday night. However, the Belgian could not grace his debut with a victory as he lost 3-1 to Thibault Tricole.

Before the match, the analysts at Viaplay were asked to describe the darter Vandenbogaerde. ''He can't be fooled. Just stoically throwing his darts without fuss. That's Mario Vandenbogaerde,'' responded Ron Meulenkamp.

Presenter Bart Nolles then suggested whether that also has to do with the age of 'Super Mario' (50). ''Of course,'' Vincent van der Voort replied. ''But it also has to do with his personality. He is the only Belgian who has no quarrel with the other Belgians,'' Van der Voort provided a laugh at the table.

''He's someone who just acts normal,'' Van der Voort continued. ''He just throws his darts, always acts friendly and is always there for everybody. He's a good guy.''
