Vincent van der Voort rolls back the years with nine darter at Players Championship 20

Vincent van der Voort has thrown a nine-darter at the 20th Players Championship tournament of the 2024 season this Tuesday afternoon in Wigan. 'The Dutch Destroyer' threw his perfect leg in the first round against Mensur Suljovic.
After Van der Voort threw a 20-darter in the first leg to take a 1-0 lead, he started the second leg with scores of 177 and 180. This was followed by a 144 finish to complete the nine-darter. The match also had a good ending for the darter from Purmerend, as Van der Voort managed to win the match 6-3 to qualify for the second round of Players Championship 20.
This perfect leg was Van der Voort's fourth official nine darter with the PDC. His first was at a Players Championship tournament in Nuland in 2009. After that, it took nine years for the Dutchman to throw his second perfect leg. In 2023, Van der Voort also threw a nine darter at a Players Championship tournament.
