Jermaine Wattimena has joined
Jonny Clayton in sealing spots in the Last 16 at the
Grand Slam of Darts from Group F despite
Damon Heta ending the unbeaten run of 'The Ferret' albeit only in a consolation win.
The permutations before tonight in this group were that Clayton had already qualified and Leonard Gates needed to win 5-3 or better to move above Wattimena and Heta had to lose.
But a win for 'Machine Gun' would send Heta needing to win by a bigger margin to qualify with a win and the Dutchman sealed the best possible margin of victory.
Starting off the night, he eased past Leonard Gates in a 5-1 win taking out 108 to seal it and put one foot in the Last 16.
This meant that Heta needed to win by 5-0 to move through which meant that when Clayton levelled at 1-1, it sent Wattimena through and left the game null and void in the context of the group as 'The Heat' went on to seal it 5-2.
