Colin Lloyd speaks to talkSPORT about how explosive the Premier League will be in the next 3 weeks leading up to the Semi-Finals and Finals in London.
Currently the top 4 are Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall. Michael van Gerwen sits on the same amount of points as Aspinall (17) going into week 13, but hasn't had a night win yet, which is the reason he has been placed below Nathan Aspinall. The only other player so far that has not has a night win yet this year is Englishman Rob Cross, he currently sits 6th on 14 points, but can that change this week?
The ex professional says " I think whoever wins it out of the four that qualify will be a worthy worthy champion". With how tight the table is there will not be anyone in the top 4 on luck this year, there will be a worthy winner and every game counts leading up to finals night.
Lloyd also speaks on the mentality of the players, " We can see some fireworks on judgement night. This is where everyone has to stay focused, every point matters, every leg matters and I think that is what will make the difference".  The table is so tight that leg difference may come into play, so dropping off for one moment could make them finish 5th instead of 4th.
The Quarter final line up in Birmingham is, Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting, Nathan Aspinall vs Chris Dobey, Luke Humphries vs Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross vs Michael van Gerwen. Is Colin Lloyd right, will the remaining weeks be explosive, as every player is still within the chance of making the top four in the Premier League of Darts table.
Tune is every Thursday at 7pm to keep up to date with how it all plays out.
