Lukas Wenig, Nico Kurz, Darren Penhall and Scott Williams were the winners of the qualifying tournaments for the European Darts Open on Friday afternoon.
Wenig and Kurz took starting spots in the Host Nation Qualifier for the European Tour tournament in Leverkusen, which takes place from May 6-8. Wenig beat Franz Roetzsch in the final round 5-2, while Kurz was too strong for Daniel Klose (5-3).
There was also a qualifying tournament for non-German players who participated in the Q-School, but did not win a Tour Card. Penhall won a starting spot at the expense of Stefan Bellmont. Williams narrowly kept Dutchman Davy Proosten from qualifying.
