This ended the series of Berry van Peer, who was the best twice on the Challenge Tour on Saturday. At this tournament, the Dutchman lost in the Last 16 to William Borland (5-3). The latter would then reach the final after wins over Mark McGeeney (5-4) and Lee Cocks (5-3).
So in the final, Borland faced Whitehead, who had dealt with the likes of Jarred Cole (5-3), Dom Taylor (5-1) and Harry Ward (5-2). The final was then a 5-2 win for Whitehead.
