Nathan Aspinall had his
Wayne Mardle moment during the World Series of Darts Finals ironically just like 'Hawaii 501' it was also on Dutch television as he spoke on Viaplay including to Vincent van der Voort who is doing punditry work for the station.
Aspinall faced off against Raymond Smith in the first round in Amsterdam coming from 4-1 down to seal the win. But for 'The Asp', it was his toilet confession to Vincent van der Voort as he prepared for his interview on Viaplay which raised an eyebrow.
Aspinall has Wayne Mardle moment
He appeared to not think he was on air and soon had to be prompted ala Wayne Mardle that he was in fact on air after all. "I haven't had a s**t for two days, it's bad" said Aspinall to Van der Voort and he was soon prompted being told: "We're live". To which Aspinall also found the funny side using the famous Wayne Mardle quip: "Why wasn't I told."
To which the trio raised a smile as they laughed before the questioning began. Aspinall admitted post match with Online Darts following his win that he wanted to lose due to his illness, but also quipped that he is a hypochrondriac anyway so in reality it kind of exacerbates his feeling of being ill.
"Yeah, it's a big win, you know, there's so many parts in that game that I just wanted to quit and not win. Just go home because I feel pretty rubbish. But, you know, I'm a hypochondriac, it's probably not that bad, let's be honest with you," he said to Online Darts post match.
