The first round has begun at the
Hungarian Darts Trophy with Madars Razma, Jim Williams and Boris Krcmar so far moving through in Budapest.
Razma recovered from 5-2 down in the opener this afternoon to defeat Franz Roetzsch in a tough first assignment for the Latvian 6-5 with Gerwyn Price now awaiting tomorrow. While Williams similarly had a tough ordeal.
He faced Brett Claydon who continued his despair on the
European Tour missing four match darts to knock out the Welshman before the first time ranking tournament winner earlier this season snatched it 6-5 to move through to face Peter Wright tomorrow.
With Wright only just coming back from surgery an opportunity could be there this weekend for Williams. While for Krcmar, he faced Levente Sarai and saw off the Host Nation Qualifier.
Cutting a frustrated figure at times during the tie, he still breezed through 6-1 with a 90 average despite missing ten darts at doubles throughout, his opponent couldn't offer any resistence.
