"Woke up every hour through the night to keep checking the trophy was still there" - Stephen Bunting in dreamland after Masters title win

Stephen Bunting woke up Monday morning and immediately realized he had not been dreaming. The reality was that 'The Bullet' managed to win a major PDC title on Sunday night.

The Englishman has been in great form for months, but a tangible result was missing. That came in the new year, after Bunting was too strong for Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Masters with a stunning 11-7 victory.

On his Instagram, Bunting writes that he had to check several times during the night to make sure it all really happened. "It wasn’t a dream. Honestly woke up every hour through the night to keep checking the trophy was still there."

Then the former Lakeside champion came out with a thank you. ''So proud of my performances this weekend. I would just like to thank all the fans, my family, management and all my sponsors. Without you guys this would never be possible. Love you all,'' Bunting concluded.
