Luke Woodhouse and Ross Smith secured a spot in the last 32 at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in the Hungarian capital Budapest on Friday night.
In the opening match of the evening, Woodhouse faced off against home player Gabor Jagicza. The Englishman quickly took a break lead, but his Hungarian opponent managed to come back to 3-3. Woodhouse then won the match 6-3, making him Rob Cross' opponent in the second round.
Ross Smith will then take on Michael van Gerwen. The reigning European Championship winner won convincingly against Robert Owen. Smith led 5-0, although he let Owen come back to 5-2. That was all, as the win went 6-2 to Smith.
