Luke Woodhouse is through to a second round clash at the PDC World Darts Championship against Damon Heta after recovering to see off James Wilson 3-1.
Woodhouse produced high finishes of 128 and 116 en route to booking his spot in a scrappy affair between the pair.
Wilson had multiple chances to break and Woodhouse claimed an opening hold to begin the tie.
The Bewdley ace missed the chance to break with four darts spurned allowing Wilson back for a 61 checkout.
Woodhouse hit a 180 and double 16 en route to a 2-1 lead but Wilson levelled up with a 52 checkout to make it 2-2 and send the opening set the distance.
Woodhouse had a chance at a 68 checkout and Wilson hit a 72 checkout to claim the set.
The former began the second set with a 65 checkout in the form of a break as he looked to level the tie up.
But a 74 checkout from Wilson saw him break back immediately at 1-1. ‘Woody’ missed 84 on the bull. The breaks continued on double eight.
Wilson missed bull to send the set to a decider and Woodhouse replied with a 65 checkout on the bull.
Woodhouse began the third set on double five before Wilson levelled up on double 20.
This theme continued before the former sealed the set on double 10 for 2-1 sets lead.
He continued with a 128 checkout before missed a 140 checkout for the match. Four match darts went and Wilson held throw to send Woodhouse to throw for it. A 116 checkout saw Woodhouse seal it.
