World Champion Michael Smith welcomed to hotel at Bahrain Darts Masters with surprise gift

Michael Smith has been warmly welcomed to Bahrain, where he will compete in the first edition of the Bahrain Darts Masters on Thursday and Friday.

Held at a purpose-built venue on the grounds of the F1 Grand Prix circuit, the event is the first World Series of Darts tournament of the year.

The hosts are clearly trying to please the players. A few hotel rooms have been cleared to make way for practice rooms, while the players have also received gifts on arrival.

Smith as recent World Champion received a beautiful dart themed chocolate cake. There was just one problem: the world champion does not like chocolate. But that's good news for his sons, who travelled with 'Bully Boy' to the gulf state and love chocolate.

“Got to my room with a nice present. Kids are loving [it] and I’m not one bit jealous as I don’t like chocolates lol. But thank you,” he tweeted.
