World Darts Championship race ignites on Nordic & Baltic Tour as Oskar Lukasiak headlines latest title winners

Oskar Lukasiak and Benjamin Drue Reus captured the ninth and tenth rounds of the PDC Nordic & Baltic ProTour last weekend. In Oslo the two tournaments were split between the Swede and the Dane, while the battle for the coveted 2027 PDC World Darts Championship spots grows ever tighter.

The events were staged at the Best Western Plus Oslo Airport in Norway. With only two tournaments remaining, the ranking is beginning to take its final shape. The top two players after twelve events will earn a ticket to the 2027 World Darts Championship.

On Sunday it was Lukasiak who took the title. The Swedish Tour Card holder produced a strong campaign and took out multiple Danish opponents along the way. After wins over Bent Lambertsen, Andreas Hyllgaardhus, and Jonas Sorensen, he beat Petri Rasmus 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Lukasiak then saw off Anton Ostlund 6-3. The final brought Daniel Larsson, who is enjoying an excellent season and has now become the new number one on the PDCNB ProTour.

The final initially looked to be going Larsson’s way. The Swedish number one raced into a 4-1 lead and seemed on course for victory. However, Lukasiak refused to yield and battled back in impressive fashion. He won four legs on the spin and snatched the match in the decider.

It was Lukasiak’s first title of the season. The win also delivers valuable points in the race to qualify for the Worlds. As a result, he climbed to fourth place on the PDCNB ProTour Order of Merit.

A day earlier it was Benjamin Drue Reus who was celebrating. The 27-year-old Dane made his first appearance on the PDC Nordic & Baltic ProTour since July 2025 in Oslo and made a dream start.

Reus opened with a commanding 6-0 victory over compatriot Andreas Hyllgaardhus. He then beat Jani Laurila 6-2 and only edged past Jakob Skovgard in the deciding leg.

Lukasiak awaited in the quarterfinals. Reus defeated the eventual winner of Event Ten 6-4 to book his place in the semifinals. There he also prevailed 6-4 against Viktor Tingström, setting up a final with Teemu Harju.

Harju moved 3-2 ahead, but Reus kept his composure. The Dane won four of the last five legs to seal the title. His victory shot him up to fourteenth on the ranking. Reus also continued to perform well on Sunday, reaching the semifinals again.

Daniel Larsson now leads the way, followed by Norwegian home favorite Cor Dekker. Jani Haavisto sits third and is also in a strong position for a Worlds ticket.

In addition to the ProTour titles, several European Tour spots were awarded in Oslo. Michael Hansen qualified for the Flanders Darts Trophy, while Haavisto secured a place at the Swiss Darts Trophy. Jonas Masalin also took the Dutch Darts Championship qualifier, earning his third European Tour appearance of 2026.

The finale comes on 26/09/2026 and 27/09/2026 in Tallinn. The final points will be awarded during Events 11 and 12. After that we will know which two players from the Nordic & Baltic region can prepare for the World Darts Championship.
