The mixed fortunes continue for the big names as it seems every other match sees a shock exit at the Dutch Darts Masters as Luke Humphries joins Nathan Aspinall and Chris Dobey out of the tournament from the invited eight in Den Bosch.

Albeit perhaps the talent on offer in the Benelux representatives is the best of the bunch on the World Series of Darts so it isn't that much of a surprise evidenced by defeat to one of the players of the latter half of 2024 in Jermaine Wattimena.

The European Championship finalist halted 'Cool Hand Luke' 6-3 with a 98.8 average, four 180's and a high checkout of 153.

Humphries surged into a 2-0 lead but Wattimena won six out of the next seven legs to seal the win. Messing around on doubles saw Wattimena snag a lifeline as he broke for 2-2 taking out 153 as Humphries in the previous leg missed three at double. He took out 111 and followed it up with 83 with some exquisite combo finishing for 4-2. He was looking ruthless with Humphries having zero answer and he made it 5-2.

Humphries finally stopped the rot but Wattimena took out double 12 last dart in hand next leg for the match and a superb result as Humphries' poor form continues.

Gerwyn Price on the other hand has been superb as of late and is really finding his mojo again. He eased past Danny Noppert 6-2. He reeled off four consecutive legs to seal victory with a 101.8 average, three 180's and a 124 checkout.

From a scrappy start at 2-2, he got into his stride. He was hitting more treble 20's and with 124 remaining pinned it last dart for a 4-2 lead. Noppert was struggling and Price hit 180 to leave 44. He pinned double 20 for 5-2 and it took one dart at double 20 to seal the deal.
