Price lost out in a dramatic deciding leg 6-5. After missed match darts, 'The Iceman' sensed an opportunity but taking aim at double 10, he went around the board and spurned his opportunity.
'Relentless' returned as a result for double eight and he becomes the latest in a long line of big names to fall on Friday's bumper session.
This also includes Raymond van Barneveld with the doyen of Dutch Darts unable to continue his heroics and he won't be seeded for the World Championship as a result.
Losing out 6-4 to Kim Huybrechts, it was a solid display from the Belgian who averaged over a ton in taking out 'Barney' despite not hitting a single 180 with 13 140's throughout the tie as well as nearly 50% on the outer ring.
Other players through include Chris Dobey who impressed in a superb 6-1 win over Geert Nentjes, while Jamie Hughes battled his way past Stephen Bunting 6-4 also on Stage Two after 'The Bullet' battled back from 3-1 down initially to make it 4-4.
Martin Schindler also finally got a win over Vincent van der Voort with a 6-4 success over the Dutchman but he had to do it the hard way with the latter battling back from 4-2 down to ask the question.
