World Series of Darts Finals stays in Amsterdam: PDC extends partnership with AFAS Live

The World Series of Darts Finals will remain in Amsterdam for the foreseeable future following a recent agreement being struck to keep the non-ranking PDC major in the Netherlands capital.

The current contract was set to expire after this year’s edition. However, the PDC sees enough reason to continue in Amsterdam. The exact number of additional editions has not been disclosed.
"It is a close, long-standing relationship that we would like to continue for many years to come," the PDC said of the partnership. The news means the World Series of Darts Finals will again be staged in the Dutch capital in 2027. For Dutch darts fans, that’s a boost after the Dutch Darts Masters dropped off the calendar this year.
Amsterdam a fixture since 2019
The World Series of Darts Finals was first held in 2015. Four years later, the invitational event landed in Amsterdam for the first time. That edition immediately produced an all-Dutch final. Michael van Gerwen was far too strong for Danny Noppert, winning 11-2. Only in 2020 did the tournament move to Salzburg. Since 2021, the event has been staged each year at AFAS Live.
Van Gerwen in particular has outstanding memories of the tournament. ‘Mighty Mike’ has now won the World Series of Darts Finals six times. Last year he reclaimed the title by defeating Luke Littler 11-7 in the final. The 2026 edition will be the seventh time the tournament is held at AFAS Live.

The World Series of Darts Finals is the season closer of the World Series. Across the season, eight international stars take on players from the host nation or region at a series of invitational events.

This year featured six World Series events. The roadshow visited Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. Amsterdam then decides who closes the season with the overall title. The winner receives a top prize of £100,000.
For the first time, the event will be spread over four days this year. Reigning champion van Gerwen will hope to defend his title with Littler looking to continue his clean sweep ambitions. Also competing are Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting and James Wade, among others. The second round is played on Saturday. Sunday brings the conclusion with the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final in succession.

- This is exactly what I mean,littler survives the 1st round,I think you'll find a lot of other players did. Can you just report on the real sport,and not just 1 person. I like Luke,but this is getting boring now,as Kevin painter once said to Taylor!!
