Wright admits hunger has returned following World Championship disappointment: "I just got my back up and decided that I want to play darts this year"

Peter Wright is through to the Quarter-Finals in his defence of The Masters in Milton Keynes after defeating Simon Whitlock in a superb win for 'Snakebite' off the back of disappointment in the World Championship.

Wright spoke in his post match press conference and said that the desire and hunger has returned following that and practice has been non stop as a result since his defeat to Gabriel Clemens at the Alexandra Palace.

"I'm pleased with the win. Simon's a fantastic player, he's been playing some superb darts. Last time we played he didn't turn up but the games before that, he smashed me. He smashed Michael last year," said Wright post match.

"I've been on the board since the day I lost in the World's. Normally I don't practice for this tournament but I just got my back up and decided that I want to play darts this year."

Chisnall clash

Next up is Dave Chisnall and when asked about potentially crushing his Premier League dreams, he said that it's all about himself winning through but that he is looking forward to facing a player on form.

"I don't give a monkeys about everyone else, it's about yourself. Chizzy is playing some fantastic darts, I like playing players who are playing really well. Simon's been playing really well, he hit the 180's against me and that made me feel better."
