Wright after smashing Ratajski to claim Players Championship 30 title: 'It was a hard day and to come through and take the title is brilliant'

Peter Wright capped off a brilliant couple of days at the final Players Championship double header in Barnsley by claiming victory in the final event of the season.

Wright saw off Krzysztof Ratajski once again, this time by an emphatic 8-1 scoreline and he said that he'd had a great couple of days and came into the tie wanting to win 8-0.

He added that from his perspective, both days have been tiring for the pair so he is pleased to claim the victory going into a slew of majors set to come up in the next few weeks.

"It's been a great couple of days," said Wright. "I beat Krzysztof yesterday and today I wanted to try and beat him 8-0!

"He's a fantastic player and the past two days have been very tiring for both of us, so I'm happy to win. It was a hard day and to come through and take the title is brilliant."
