The Last 16 line-up is close to being confirmed with
Peter Wright breezing through to the draw which will take place after the Gerwyn Price tie at the
UK Open.
Wright took out Simon Whitlock in a 10-5 victory as he continues his march potentially to the World Number One spot which will of course be confirmed if Price loses to Jamie Hughes.
He has battled the pain barrier in recent days but conjured up a quality performance against 'The Wizard' averaging 102.5 with one of the main flourishes though coming from the Aussie ace with a 170 checkout but it was a mere consolation.
While on the outer boards,
Jonny Clayton was averaging 113 at one point against Jose de Sousa and surged to a 10-1 victory sitting at a 98 average with a highest checkout of 120 in the end in what was a repeat of last year's Premier League final.
James Wade won the UK Open last year and he will also be in the draw later after sweeping aside Ron Meulenkamp with a 97 average. While The Machine continues his march so does
Callan Rydz.
Rydz cruised to a 10-2 victory over Vincent van der Voort to move into the Last 16 for the first time and continue his darting rise. With the same to be said for
Sebastian Bialecki.
The young Pole who is without a Tour Card has taken out five Tour Card holders this weekend and edged past Ian White 10-9 to head into the Last 16 and continue his dream run.
Keane Barry also produced an epic 121 checkout for a 12-darter in the decider to defeat Niels Zonneveld and he is also set for a first appearance in the Last 16.
