The final has been confirmed at the 2020 Masters with Peter Wright set to face off against Michael Smith shortly in Milton Keynes.
Wright fought off a spirited comeback from Gary Anderson to claim an 11-7 victory over his World Cup of Darts teammate and will aim to make it two televised titles in a row after his World Championship triumph.
It was very close to begin the tie between the Scottish pair but it was Wright who went into the first interval with the edge at 3-2 up.
Wright continued to keep Anderson at arms length and went 5-3 up with a 13 darter; he followed that up with a break of throw seeing Wright going three clear at 6-3 up with 66 percent on the doubles.
At the next interval, this was stretched even further at 7-3 up; as he extended his advantage to head towards the final.
Anderson hit a 130 checkout to keep himself in it at 4-7 behind; but Wright claimed another break of throw to go 9-4 up. Could 'The Flying Scotsman' force the initiative?
Anderson was put into a win or bust situation with Wright moving within a leg of the final at 10-4 up. He didn't fold though and fought back hitting three legs on the spin to make it 10-7.
Despite that though it was too little too late as Wright claimed a 11-7 victory from there staving off that late fightback with a 121 checkout to seal the deal.
