Wright still optimistic despite dismal Premier League start: "I've got plenty of time to turn it around"

Peter Wright during this year's Premier League Darts has had a dismal time with five straight defeats and sitting rooted rock bottom of the table.
The next two weeks he faces Gerwyn Price tonight in Liverpool, Michael van Gerwen next week then the table topper who is currently also MVG. But despite that he remains optimistic.
“I am looking forward to playing Gezzy," declared Wright.

“Even if I had won the night in Exeter, I would still have been bottom, but I've got plenty of time to turn it around.
“I am nowhere near my best, but in the last two weeks I’ve lost both games 6-5, so I’m getting closer!"

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
