The draw for the Last 16 at the 2023
UK Open is coming up shortly and four more top names have completed the line-up in Minehead in the form of
Peter Wright,
Dimitri van den Bergh,
Jonny Clayton and
Rob Cross.
Wright survived a scare on the Main Stage as he prevailed 10-8 over Callan Rydz. It was far from his brilliant best but he managed to get over the line with a 92 average and a high checkout of 121 with 'The Riot' missing 21 darts at doubles through the tie.
Dimitri van den Bergh could've had a scare on his hands as Mervyn King spurned seven darts to force a deciding leg but in the end 'The Dreammaker' prevailed 10-9.
While on the other stages, Clayton continues to navigate quietly but is an in-form player and showed that by powering past Jose de Sousa 10-3 with a 96.6 average.
He was joined in turn with a 10-3 victory also for Rob Cross who saw off Steve Beaton to end the legend's run who has also shown signs of a resurgence.
