Wright, Van Gerwen and Price among confirmed players for first two European Tour events

With the announcement of the return of the European Tour which comprises the Budapest Darts Trophy and Gibraltar Darts Trophy in September, the seeded players have been confirmed.

Comprising of the top 16 of the ProTour Order of Merit used to seed to Super Series as well, it sees Joe Cullen lead the way as top seed ahead of Jose de Sousa.

Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen round out the top four with both of course being European Tour stalwarts and big names confirmed for both events.

Gerwyn Price is fifth seed, while the likes of Premier League champion Jonny Clayton are also among the seeded players.

For Dirk Van Duijvenbode and Damon Heta also they will be seeded for the first time in European Tour tournaments after continued success since the tournaments were last held. While defending Gibraltar Darts Trophy champion, Krzysztof Ratajski is also involved.

The remaining 32 spots for each of the two tournaments will be divided through various qualifiers. Twenty of these spots will be available during Tour Card Holder qualifiers on Friday 9th July. Dave Chisnall, Rob Cross, Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld and Simon Whitlock, among others, must try to qualify via this route.

The Hungarian Darts Trophy will take place from 3 to 5 September in the Hungarian capital Budapest. The Gibraltar Darts Trophy is set for September 24 to 26.
