With his Tour Card being a factor, 'Oceans Slevin' was delighted to win through. But he also faced criticism for the board becoming bashed up with his points and he responded to that. Some saying that he will perhaps get into trouble with the new DRA rules about points.
"It means the world. I think coming up to the qualifiers my Tour Card was on the cusp. I had to get to the World's to save it and I wasn't really thinking about my Tour Card but it's in the back of your brain, lucky I got over the line. I said I don't ever want to go through that again playing Willie or any of the Irish lads Brendan (Dolan), Mickey (Mansell) or anything like that. That was the hardest game of my life," said Slevin.
"I'm 22, I'm young I've got my whole life ahead of me. Coming here last year was a big help to get that experience on the stage. I learned from it last year and it got me over the line."
"I don't think I've played Dimitri this year. I think I was meant to play him last year if I got through the first round. We'll regroup myself for tomorrow, I'll forgot about this game today, I'm still even shaking. Hopefully I can bring my A game on Sunday evening."
Dylan Slevin saw off a well known face in his life, William O'Connor.

He surged through Q-School and many thought he would kick on and he hasn't. But Slevin said it was never in his mind even to get a Tour Card and it merely fell into place.
"I'll be completely honest, my manager Matt said are we going to Q-School when I was going and I said I have a broken foot, I'm not too sure. He said we'll put you in, if you're going you're going. If you're not you're not. Went anyway and I was only going to get experience. Got through on Monday and I thought we might be onto something here. When I got it, it was amazing. I haven't really (kicked on), I'm going to put in a massive effort for next year."
Simon Whitlock was perhaps the catalyst for the aggressive point rule happening and Slevin said it will likely get remedied anyway with new equipment on his mind.
"You're thinking like, oh, are you gonna get in trouble and all that, like. But no, like, I'm going to try and change up my equipment for next year. I've always been basic, standard flight, stem and whatever point I like.
