The World Matchplay race is close to its conclusion with the final day of action coming up in the PDC Summer Series which will dictate the field ahead of the draw which will take place on Sunday evening.

There are 21 players still with a chance of making it to the showpiece event which will begin next weekend in Milton Keynes, the current venue of the PDC Summer Series.

Ryan Searle needs a Last 16 at minimum, Kim Huybrechts needs to make the Quarter-Finals. While Stephen Bunting must make at least the Semi-Final.

Steve West, Luke Humphries and John Henderson will need a final to stand a chance, with the latter two facing off in the first round so at least one will fall by the wayside early on.

15 other players will need to win a title to get themselves in contention which means if we get a shock winner, they could yet find their way into the field.

Currently the players under threat include all from 11th-16th including Steve Beaton who could yet miss out on a 20th consecutive appearance in the tournament. He sits just ahead of Ricky Evans and three consecutive first round exits, a good day is needed today to see him through.
