Michael Smith booked his second victory in the Premier League Darts with a 7-2 win over contender Nathan Aspinall in Nottingham.

Aspinall was punished for missing thirteen doubles throughout the match. The reigning UK Open champion missed seven darts to level in the second leg, before Smith took a 4-0 lead with 90 and 81 checkouts. Aspinall put his first leg on the scoreboard as he hit a 47 finish to win the fourth leg.

Smith increased the gap to four legs with a 112 checkout, but ‘The Asp’ hit back with a stunning 158 finish. The Stockport ace had a last chance in leg nine to stay in the match, but missed another three darts on the doubles. Smith stepped in and took out 127 to claim two points for the ranking table.
