Michael Smith is the first player into the PDC World Darts Championship Final after seeing off Nathan Aspinall in an absolute classic on the Alexandra Palace stage.

Smith claimed it 6-3 after the players battled for the most part but it was the Bully Boy with a 105 average, 17 180’s and five ton plus checkouts.
Smith romped to the first two sets with the potential for him in the early going for him to make it an early night looking at his play.
This is where it started to go wrong though with Smith missing darts to win the next set, Aspinall pounced to claim a foothold.
He extended that in the next set; by claiming it to level it up in a real gutsy opening from Aspinall.
Smith and Aspinall both started to fire producing a real classic and the next set went to a decider; with Smith under pressure pinning double nine to claim it.
Aspinall when Smith went into a 3-2 lead pegged him straight back the following set; this was with a 104 average and ten 180’s.
In the following set, ‘Bully Boy’ claimed it 3-1 as he went back in front with a 104 average and fourteen 180’s in a high scoring affair between the pair of them.
He took the next set 3-1 as well to go one set away from a huge win as he put it to a record equalling 16 maximums and up to a 105 average.
Aspinall missed his chance to hold his throw in the next set missing double four; Smith cool as you like struck potentially a defining blow pinning double nine.
Smith finished the job hitting his fifth ton plus finish hitting a 121 checkout to see off Aspinall.
