Chris Dobey with his run to the final at the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen has not only secured his spot at the World Grand Prix but also the World Matchplay in Blackpool.
Dobey is just outside the top five and with only a few events till the cutoff, it seems he has done enough to make his debut at the showpiece summer event at the Winter Gardens.
Stephen Bunting has also supposedly done just about enough also. This means there are only a few spots left but with a small amount of events left barring those just in on countback; which are Ryan Searle and Kyle Anderson, the line-up looks to be basically sorted.
James Wilson, Ross Smith and Keegan Brown are the three players who sit just outside and will be hoping to use this weekend to bring them closer to qualification though; so it’ll be interesting to see how those players get on.

Chris Dobey in essence secures his spot in Blackpool, and Stephen Bunting likely does the same, with just 3 events to go before the cut-off. Kyle Anderson moves into the provisional spots on countback, knocking out James Wilson. pic.twitter.com/jjkgW8cllU
