The qualifying tournament for the men's tournament of the WDF World Championship at Lakeside produced two Croatian winners. At the qualifier in Hungary, the last four starting spots for the tournament in Frimley Green were up for grabs.

Boris Krcmar has already competed in the PDC's World Darts Championship five times in his career, but has now forced placement for the amateur association's World Championship. The Croatian successively defeated Martin Whatmough (4-0), Tom Sawyer (4-0), Tony Martin (4-2), Ultan Mcdyer (4-1), Tomislav Rosandic (5-2) and Scott Walters (6-5).
He will be joined at Lakeside by compatriot Romeo Grbavac. Grbavac beat Szianyina Jozsef (4-1), Ken Hwang (4-0), Martin Homola (4-3), Ronan Mcdonagh (4-1), Daniel Stephenson (5-1) and Rowby-John Rodriguez (6-3). An Irish and a Finnish player were also added to the field of participants. Stephen Rosney secured participation by winning over Mark Stephenson (4-1), Kristen Aquilina (4-0), Glen Parsons (4-3), Thor Helmer Johansen (4-1), Jeroen Caron (5-3) and Riccardo Castelli (6-3). Also, Petri Rasmus may prepare for a trip to Frimley Green. Finnish darter Petri Rasmus successively eliminated Dean Reyland (4-2), Rene Johansen (4-0), Albert Scerri (4-2), Marvin Kraft (4-2), Ron Meulenkamp (5-2) and Pat Scurfield (6-3).
