Jarred Cole has continued his 2022 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship brilliance with a dominant win over Antony Allen with a 156 checkout along with four 180's en route as he followed up his opening win against Martin Adams.
Cole had a brilliant start to proceedings with ‘The King of the Castle’ staking his claim to begin the tie with a 156 checkout en route to the opening set.
It was another three legs without reply as he extended his lead to two sets and he went six darts into a perfect leg showing how well Cole was playing.
Allen finally got a leg on the board but it didn’t last long in terms of a revival with Cole hitting double 16 on his third match dart.
While Rhian O'Sullivan produced an excellent display to knock out former finalist, Corrine Hammond who many thought would get to the final.
Hammond sealed an opening break with a 52 checkout. A 68 checkout after Hammond busted her score saw O’Sullivan break back. From there, she eased to the opening set pinning double 20 to complete the feat.
Hammond hit back with a 20 darter and a 180 followed by the same target to go 2-0 up before sealing the set.
To start the decider, O’Sullivan hit a 180 and missed a 98 checkout but hit double 19 to go 1-0 up. O’Sullivan missed 101 for a break but Hammond couldn’t produce 120 or 76 which allowed the Welsh ace to go one away.
Hammond thought she pinned 112 and handed O’Sullivan match darts only for Hammond to spurn two darts to break back and O’Sullivan sealed it.
