David Pallett and Lerena Rietbergen win titles at WDF Romanian Classic

David Pallett and Lerena Rietbergen were victorious on Sunday at the WDF Romanian Classic. The latter captured her sixth title on the WDF circuit Sunday by defeating Sophie McKinlay in the final.
Rietbergen eliminated Lorna Frame (4-0), Jayne Orencas (4-0), Louise Hepburn (4-0), Kirsty Hutchinson (4-1) and Irina Armstrong (4-0) en route to the final. McKinlay picked up victories against Ann-Kathrin Wigmann (4-1), Wendy Decender (4-1), Paula Jacklin (4-1), Amy Evans (4-1) and Deta Hedman (4-0). In the final, Rietbergen got out to an immediate break lead. After Rietbergen failed to make it 4-1, she did eventually win the match 5-2.
Former PDC Tour Card holder David Pallett won a WDF tournament for the second time in his career. After his title at the England Open in 2022, this time he was the best among men at the Romanian Classic.
Having previously defeated Ralph Wetzels (4-1), Tamas Mihaly (4-0), Simon Arora (4-1), Tomasz Kozlowski (4-1), Corné Groeneveld (4-3), John Michael (4-1), Johan Engstrom (4-1) and Raymond van den Ende (4-2), Pallett triumphed in the final 5-3 against Brandon Stow.

Lerena Rietbergen underlines her status as top seed in Bucharest, defeating Sophie McKinlay to win the Romanian Classic.
The Dutch ace threw 2 180s and an 88 finish as she claimed her sixth senior WDF title with a 5-2 victory!

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people. It does seem naive not acknowledging the fact it was earnings, surely there must be others in the same situation. - What’s with the dogs element to this story, trying to pull at the heart strings? Just goes to show that being a good dart player does not equate to being that bright. Seriously, ‘I thought you didn’t have to pay tax on winnings’ , your a pro dart player and its your line of work, your not playing the lottery or placing a bet. - The thing is... the folks who "humiliated" Taylor in the Seniors Events never really achieved anything in the important events - like Taylor did. Taylor had/has nothing to prove... and beating Taylor after he had retired is of zero value. Taylor in his prime would have made easy work of all of them. Cheers.MrYnyslas197107-03-2025
