David Pallett dazzles with 108.99 average en route to Romanian Classic semi-finals

David Pallett is having some weekend at the Romanian Darts Festival and will at least play in the semi-finals of the Romanian Classic producing a career best average to get there in the WDF tournament.
Pallett hit 108.99 to see off Johan Engstrom known as The Sweet Ferret 4-1 winning his legs in 14, 11, 13 and 17 darts respectively. He had previously seen off John Michael in the Last 16 as well as Corne Groeneveld.
The line-up will see him face Raymond van den Ende with the other half seeing Brandon Stow face Paul Croucher. In the Ladies, it is Lerena Rietbergen facing Sophie McKinlay in the final with Irina Armstrong and Deta Hedman falling both 4-0 in the semi-finals.
Kirsty Hutchinson, Aileen de Graaf both fell also in the Quarter-Finals. The men's Romanian Open is currently ongoing with Brian Raman and Francois Schweyen into the semi-finals. Pallett won't double up as Michael got revenge in the Last 32.
WDF World No.1 Jimmy van Schie also showed his class sweeping past Rohan Brouwers 4-0 to reach the Last 64 with a 107 average but as has been the case in particular with his Q-School tilt, he couldn't build on it and he is out.
In the Ladies, it will be Aileen de Graaf facing Deta Hedman in the final with Rietbergen falling in the semi-finals. These tournaments go towards the Lakeside race and rankings with Platinum and Gold gleaming immediate qualification for the Lakeside World Championship.

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people. It does seem naive not acknowledging the fact it was earnings, surely there must be others in the same situation. - What’s with the dogs element to this story, trying to pull at the heart strings? Just goes to show that being a good dart player does not equate to being that bright. Seriously, ‘I thought you didn’t have to pay tax on winnings’ , your a pro dart player and its your line of work, your not playing the lottery or placing a bet. - The thing is... the folks who "humiliated" Taylor in the Seniors Events never really achieved anything in the important events - like Taylor did. Taylor had/has nothing to prove... and beating Taylor after he had retired is of zero value. Taylor in his prime would have made easy work of all of them. Cheers.MrYnyslas197107-03-2025
