After a successful opening day with the warm-up tournaments on Thursday, Friday was entirely dedicated to the pairs events at the Dutch Open.
While Thursday saw Jimmy van Schie and Emine Dursun steal the spotlight with their tournament wins, it was once again Van Schie on Friday who maintained his excellent form, this time alongside Danny van Trijp.
In the open pairs tournament, Van Schie and Van Trijp booked their place in the final, which will be played on Sunday on the stage at the Dutch Open Darts. The duo impressed throughout the event and took out several strong partnerships.
In the semi-finals, they faced Richard Veenstra and Chris Landman. In a match where neither team gave much away, Van Schie and Van Trijp struck at the right moments and edged it 4-2. That secured their spot in the title decider.
In Sundayโ€™s final they will meet Dirk van Duijvenbode and Maik Kuivenhoven. This duo produced a spectacular finish in the semi-finals against Jelle Klaasen and Andy Baetens. Van Duijvenbode and Kuivenhoven trailed in that match but showed resilience and character. With heavy scoring and clinical finishing, they completely turned it around to win 4-3. That comeback sealed their place in the final.

In the final, they defeated Michel Holzen and Ralf Huesmann 4-2. Van Velzen and Cho delivered a steady level throughout the tournament and fully lived up to their status as favorites in the final.
The pairs tournaments once again attracted a massive turnout. No fewer than 2048 pairs toed the oche in the open event. In the womenโ€™s tournament, 212 pairs took part, while nine pairs competed among the paradarters. This once again confirms the Dutch Openโ€™s status as the largest darts tournament in the world.
